Meisjes van dertien..alweer 6 jaar geleden. Girls of thirteen...it's been 6 years already.
This layout is for my daughter Kyra. The picture was taken on our 25-th aniversary, now 6 years ago. She was thirteen at the time, and there is this song in the Netherlands about thirteen year old girls which refers to them being 'just in between' which is so true. She seemed so adult in her evening gown, but her face still has this childlike innocence, such a touching contradiction. Ik made the layout with Dylusions, deliberately creating drippage.
I used texture past around the picture, just like on my last layout which I painted brown first and then I rubbed some goldcoloured ink on. I sanded the picture slightly in order to create a worn look. In the background I used a text stamp and brown Stazon randomly.
I also used a diamond stamp and black Stazon in the background and used texture paste with a stencil to make these irregular little cubes. Then I added gold ink.
I used a bit of leftover scrappaper for the bunting. The rope was glued to the page with Tacky Glue and the bunting ttached underneath. The letters are a Tim Holtz Alphabet die. I pasted down pieces of insect gauze and stamped hearts on which I gave red flower centres. I added subtil red accents on the page (see the letters) to give it a pop. Here are the two pages seperately.
I made this one weeks ago but hadn't posted it yet. I thought you might want to see my gorgeous daughter (blush, proud mum). Tomorrow I have a long days work ahead; we're holding an Easter Market at school for War Child, an organisation that works for children in war zones. So working from 8 in the morning till 7 in the evening. Will be pooped, but at least I have the day off on Wednesday! Hugs Frea
