The're very good at coming up with difficult challenges at LMM. This one was a real tough one: Fireworks. It took me quite a while to come up with an idea how to translate that into a card. In the end I picked the treehouse from Operation Treehouse and decided to color it by night. Boy is that hard to do!! Colors change in the dark, so you can't just color a tree green. I picked high numbers for alle the colors I used so the're very saturated and have lots of grey. And I used a load of colors! In the end I was moderately happy. The sky was very difficult because I just couldn't get it even; I really think you need an airbrush to do that properly, and unfortunately I don't own one.
Here's a detailpicture of the treehouse. By making the windows yellow it looks like the light is on.
I have drawn the fireworks first with a white paintmarker and then added Stickles to those white lines, using a color and then either gold or silver! It was a precision job, but I am quite happy with the result.
Because the picture just about covers the entire card, I just added two frames around it; the 1st one in silvercolored glitter paper and the 2nd one with paper from the K & Company Ancestry papers. The basis card is made with darkblue cardstock. The only thing I added is a Whimsy birthday stamp cut out with matching die. I added silvercolored Stickles.
I'm most curious what you think about my coloring.
